Home learning 18.02.22

 Hiya Year 4,

Due to the weather warning, there will be no school 18.02.22. Please use some of your time at home to complete the activities below. I hope that you enjoy your half-term and I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday 1st March 2022.

Miss Kondwani :)

Literacy:

This term, you worked incredibly hard when learning about Mary Anning and creating your own newspaper reports. As you did not get the chance to complete your newspaper reports in school, I would love to read completed newspaper reports that you have written at home. Remember to think to include the key features that we covered this year:

Who is the report about?

What happened?

Where did it happen?

When did it happen?

Why did it happen?

Direct speech - When interviewed, Maya said "I can not believe that dinosaur remains were found here in Cabot!"

Reported (indirect speech) - Maya said that she couldn't believe that dinosaur remains were found in Cabot.

I have included the original text to help you.

Maths

We had a great start to 'Triangle week' that included great problem solving and reasoning. Have a go at this activity below to explore triangles further:

Research topic
Next term, we will be learning a lot about volcanoes! It would be great if you could find information about volcanoes to share in class. Here are some questions to start you off.

What is a volcano?
Where can volcanoes be found around the world?
What are the different types of volcanoes?
What happens when a volcano erupts?
